Now that I have been home from Nepal I am getting a chance to catch up from having been gone for so long from my family. Praise the Lord everything is in order still. William is at an age where he can hold down the fort and Lisa I to some extent is getting used to me traveling. While I am traveling My family has plenty to do so it is not as though they are bored without me. Lisa has been able to minister to a local family by taking care of their child frequently and William is busy with school and taking care of the chickens.
It would be hard for me to tell all the wonderful things that happened while I was in Chicago and then all of the Nepal and India blessings. For a detailed report and one that I tried to update daily please see my Facebook page. Yes, I am on Facebook and it has been used as a way to keep family and friends aware of how to pray etc. So, In short, the Gospel was shared while I was gone. It was a blessing to preach with Ken Fleck, and Kelly Brady in Chicago and also a blessing to preach with Jesse Boyd, Ricky Springer, Bishnu, and others in Nepal and India.
I have returned from these most recent travels blessed and encouraged. For those of you that have gone out to third world countries, villages in the middle of nowhere, and had to endure hardships in foreign lands you can probably guess what kind of mode I’m in. My stomach is still recovering and my skin is achey but for the most part I am healthy. Jesse does a wonderful job of writing and updating so please check out his site to hear more about the Ratna Park attack in Kathmandu where Jesse and Ricky were beaten and stoned, to hiking to villages in the mountains, to going to India and having a policeman threatening to pelt us with a huge bamboo stick only later changing his approach when I began to video him, to preaching from a boat to a shore, to preaching outside a campus in Kathmandu. It was amazing.
I, more than ever, see America as candy coated. Smooth roads, 1/5 of Americans are medicated for psychological problems, clean trash free streets, electricity 24 hours a day seven days a week, lukewarm Christianity… the list goes on and on and now that I was gone for so long it just shouts at me how much we take for granted and how spoiled we are, and how dependent on everything but Jesus we are!
So what next? Lord willing by the end of March I hope to be traveling towards the east coast. I am still burdened with preaching the Gospel on Universities here in the U.S.. Additionally I hope to preach in cities along the way. So as far as I know not too much has changed.
Hey, that was a short and sweet update. I’ve been told to keep the updates shorter so let’s try that
Let’s be in prayer and let’s tell the world about Jesus!
